Abstract
JSXGraph’s new sketchCurve object bridges the gap between analog and digital mathematics. By enabling hand-drawn sketches to be digitized, it unlocks creative possibilities for teaching, presenting, and assessing mathematical concepts. In traditional lectures, sketches are indispensable—whether for illustrating function graphs or highlighting critical points like extrema. sketchCurve now brings this intuitive, pen-based approach to the digital world.
This two-part talk will demonstrate the tool’s potential:
- Part 1 focuses on practical single-curve applications (e.g., sketching function graphs).
- Part 2 explores advanced use cases, such as visualizing feasible sets in constrained optimization.
