Visualising derivatives of functions

Abstract

In this talk, we present a sample piece of visualising the derivative function of real functions using JSXGraph. With this graphics the students can explore how the derivative of a given function looks like, e.g., that the derivative of the sine function is the cosine function.

We lay a special focus on the features within this graphics, and explain how they are realized in JSXGraph, so that the audience can use these features also in their own visualisations.
